Branch Sales Co-ordinator Invercargill

Tell us about your current role at Plumbing World – what is it that you do and what does your typical day look like? My current role is in the showroom dealing with the plumbers and retail customers on their front of wall product. This could be something small from selling a door seal to quoting and ordering large house lots, this whole process no matter the size is followed through to the end. Then there is the showroom itself, I get to pick and arrange display products, deal with reps and organise in store promotions.  Every day is different and there is always something to do. What is your favourite part of your role? Getting to know the customers. On large jobs where you get to know the customer quite well you can learn a lot about them, their families and what is happening in their lives. It’s nice to make that connection with people. What advice do you have for someone who wants to do a similar role to you? Just enjoy it. There are always moments when things don’t go to plan but these moments are small compared to all the good things that happen. Tell us about your career in Plumbing World: I have been with Plumbing World for a bit over 18 years. I originally started part time in the showroom and moved to accounts after a couple of years. Eventually the majority of the admin role was moved to Palmerston North and I went back into a showroom role.  Although you work in a specific role you quite often find yourself doing things outside of this. Why do you love working at Plumbing World? It really isn’t just a job. It becomes part of you and you become a part of it. Plus I am lucky to work with a great team of people who all work together and support each other.
